BLACK DIAMOND BIOCHAR
FOR HORTICULTURE AND HOME
We are an Adelaide Hills based company, producing high quality biochar from a sustainable feedstock of locally sourced woody waste and tree litter. This is done seasonally to comply with bushfire regulations, it helps hills residents reduce fuel load on their land, enabling easier slashing of paddocks prior to fire season, and less need to have air polluting burnoffs.
Every step we take in our sourcing and manufacture is done with an awareness of the footprint we create. Our carbon credits are given to the Maccy Biochar group in the Adelaide Hills to help in their endeavours to make the community of Macclesfield carbon neutral. Our packaging is all re purposed and can be reused and recycled. Labelling has been designed to minimise paper and ink usage.
A sustainable soil improver which has many horticultural benefits including: adding carbon to your soils, promoting microfungi, microorganisms and helping with moisture retention. Biochar's other applications include water filtration, odour reduction, waste water and sewerage treatment, stock and poultry feed supplements to name a few.
Our Kon Tiki kiln, showing the flame at the top of the kiln burning volatile greenhouse gasses, thereby preventing them from escaping into the atmosphere.
Our horticultural range of Biochar has been graded, screened and enhanced by steeping the char in an organic microbe rich tea. Offering differently graded product allows for a wider range of applications. Our full range is available in our online store with collection from Macclesfield or purchase direct from our stockists:
